Hopewell Designs, Inc., founded in 1994, designs and manufactures automated equipment for calibration, test and measurement, and general industrial automation. With over 60 installed systems, we are the national leader in automated irradiator systems for calibrating radiation survey meters.
Hopewell Designs, Inc. has provided over 60 irradiators and control systems. The standard systems available from Hopewell Designs, Inc. meet the vast majority of the technical specifications without any modifications. To our knowledge, no other company has such a proven product line, nor is such an experienced engineering support staff immediately available to provide these irradiator systems. In addition to having a standard product that meets most typical requirements, Hopewell Designs, Inc. also has the depth of experience and expertise in dosimetry, irradiators, and software to assure that our systems fully satisfy all technical and operational requirements.
Our staff has extensive experience and training in software development using LabVIEW™ by National Instruments and includes a Certified Developer and a Certified Associate Developer. As a National Instruments Alliance member, we are part of the network of consultants, system integrators, and developers who provide customers with high-quality solutions. Our completed projects include instrument calibration systems, dosimetry irradiators, production line monitoring and control, and diagnostic systems.

Together our staff has over 200 years of experience in engineering design, systems integration, software development, manufacturing, and project management. Our personnel have worked with diverse applications that include: irradiator calibration systems, radiation shielding, pick and place production equipment, conveyor systems, pallet stackers, and electronic fabrication. We have extensive experience providing solutions for industrial automation as well as laboratory environments.

Our offices and shop are located in a 20,000 sq. ft. building in Alpharetta, Georgia, just north of Atlanta. Our office facilities include a network of Linux and Windows computers, CAD workstations, printers, fax, and PBX. For research and meetings, we have a technical library and conference room in addition to the offices and cubicles.
Manufacturing facilities include a machine shop, an electronics assembly and testing area, and an area for integrating and testing machinery and electronic controls.
Our electronics and integration areas are equipped with tools for electronics assembly and test equipment such as meters and oscilloscope.
Our machine shop includes two mills and a lathe with digital readouts; drill presses; Vertical and horizontal bandsaws; TIG, MIG, and stick welding machines; plasma cutter; casting furnace; forklift; miscellaneous fabrication equipment; and painting equipment.
We maintain an inventory of supplies including a variety of shapes, sizes, and types of metal and hardware, as well as a wide array of electrical, electronic, and computer components.
Hopewell Designs, Inc. provides systems and solutions for irradiation applications, X-Ray inspection, positioning equipment, and radiation shielding. We offer standard products and custom designs to meet our customers' requirements.

Irradiator Systems
We manufacture calibration systems for radiation detection instruments and personnel dosimetry. Manual and automated systems are available. Automated irradiators provide exposure rate calculation with decay correction, automated set up, and automated irradiator calibration.
X-ray Systems
X-ray systems are available for parts inspection, automatic defect recognition, materials research, and biological irradiation. We supply complete systems as well as components and accessories.
Positioning Systems
Whether it is a 10 axis system with 5000 lbs. capacity or a 10mm travel axis with micron resolution, Hopewell Designs, Inc. can supply a positioning system to meet your needs. These tracks are supplied as stand-alone systems or part of an automated test and measurement system.
Radiation Shielding
Our staff has over 30 years experience designing and building radiation shielding. We provide design and analysis for gamma, neutron, and X-Ray shielding, and manufacture radiation shielding for a host of applications.
Industrial Automation
We supply automation for industrial applications that include machine vision, parts inspection, and parts handling. Depending on the needs of the application, the automation may be under control of computer, electronic controller (PLC), or electronic timers.
Control Software
We have supplied software solutions for applications ranging from instrument calibration and automated analysis to machine vision. Our staff's programming and applications expertise and our extensive inventory of standard software modules enable us to quickly develop programs customized to specific needs.
