StemCells, Inc. is focused on the development and commercialization of cell-based technologies. Our therapeutic product development programs target diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) and Liver.

We are a world leader in the discovery and development of human neural stem cell technology. Our lead product candidate, HuCNS-SC® cells (purified human neural stem cells), is in clinical development for the treatment of two fatal neurodegenerative disorders that primarily affect young children.
We also market specialty cell culture media products under the brand SC Proven®, and are developing our cell-based technologies for use in drug discovery and development.

Our strong intellectual property position includes exclusive rights to approximately 55 issued or allowed U.S. patents and approximately 200 granted or allowed non-U.S. patents.

Our scientific founders, who are also members of our Scientific Advisory Board, are recognized as world leaders in stem cell biology.
Our mission is to harness the great promise offered by stem cell technology towards the treatment, and possibly cure, of a broad array of intractable human disease for the benefit of patients, family members, physicians and society in general.
