美国Phoenix Research Labs

美国Phoenix Research Lab公司的Micron III是全球顶尖小动物视网膜成像系统。2010年ARVO大会上,Micron III被公认为小动物视网膜成像的新标准。来自全球的眼科学及神经科学工作者给予高度评价。国内多所著名科研机构的专家也对Micron III表示极大兴趣。

Phoenix Research Laboratories, Inc. was established to contribute to the war on blindness by developing advanced imaging devices for research using small animals.

Founder N.A. (Bert) Massie, Ph.D. stated:
"I am proud of my role in leading the RetCam pediatric retinal imaging program and very excited to see over seven hundred units in service about the world. My new venture Phoenix Research Laboratories will focus on serving the needs of eye healthcare researchers and continues to reflect my values of contributing to the war on blindness through innovative instrumentation."

The MICRON began as a retinal imaging microscope for mice and rats. Professor Robert Marc, Ph.D. of Moran Eye and Professor John Flannery, Ph.D. of U.C. Berkeley were kind enough to lend consultation as to the clinical requirements and Kenneth Greenberg, Ph.D. of U.C. Berkeley provided assistance in testsing.

Initial acceptance was high and the Company set about to enhance the system performance. The system is in its second upgrade with the MICRON III being introduced in the early spring of 2010. Dr. Massie stated, "The MICRON III incorporated inputs from our early users and in particular provides higher sensitivity for fluorescent imaging. Phoenix will now focus on enhancing the system through attachments for providing other imaging modalities."

What began as a retinal microscope is now becoming a comprehensive imaging system for eye research. At ARVO 2010 the Company will introduce attachments to:

* Image the Trabecular meshwork in mice
* Provide slit-lamp style anterior segment imaging
* Means to inject light into the retina for PERG

Later in the year the Company plans to introduce:

* Means for laser injection through the imaging system
* Means for imaging larger animals such as rabbits and monkeys
* Ability to image at very high resolution
