IBA GmbH - the "TAGnology" company
IBA GmbH is dedicated to provide high quality tools for life science research. Being the "TAG-company" IBA is covering with its TAGnologies the entire production of recombinant proteins. As competent partner for the Life science industry and academia IBA is one of the foremost providers of TAG-derived products and services for PCR, cloning, transfection, protein expression and purification to detection, immobilization, and T-cell isolation.
IBA's clients may choose either the proprietary protein products or, alternatively, the custom services, which are based on the same TAGnologies maximizing the client’s flexibility to allocate resources:
"StarGate®" is a high capacity combinatorial cloning system used to screen for the optimal host/tag combination. The intelligent system is beating other cloning systems with exceptional advantages. After transfection with MATra, an efficient magnet assisted transfection TAGnology using MagTag®, the Strep-tag®/Strep-Tactin® system is ideally suited for purification of highly pure and bioactive proteins.
IBA has just launched several new and exciting products: the StarGate® Fusion Cloning System for the generation of fusion proteins and artificial operons, the Strep-Tactin® Superflow® high capacity affinity chromatography resin for purification of Strep-tag® proteins, several ready-to-use tools for protein:protein interaction studies as well as new Strep-tag® proteins, namely FasL, for apoptosis research.
Two specialists, one perfect match:
IBA BioTAGnology – the tool provider &
–the custom service partner!
IBA´s wide-range product portfolio is supplemented by a comprehensive custom service offered by IBA Biologics, IBA´s 100 % daughter since April 2007. In January 2008, IBA Biologics joined IBA GmbH in the Göttingen headquarters. Using the expertise and access to innovative and proprietary IBA TAGnologies, IBA Biologics accompanies its clients in pharma and biotech industries as a competent partner from early discovery to cGMP production of proteins.
Product portfolio
"StarGate®" is a new and exciting, high capacity combinatorial cloning system which is applied to systematically transfer any gene of interest into E.coli, yeast, mammalian and insect (baculovirus) background with high speed and convenience to screen for the optimal host/tag combination. The intelligent system is beating other cloning systems with exceptional advantages.
"MATra", the TAGnology for magnet assisted transfection, allows efficient transfection of a large range of cell lines. A combination of the MA (Magnet Assisted) Lipofection Enhancer with IBAs' lipofection reagent IBAfect offers further options.
Having cloned (StarGate®), transfected (MATra) and expressed the protein, our Strep-tag®/Strep-Tactin® system is ideally suited for protein purification yielding highly pure and bioactive proteins. Strep-tag® is a universal and patented technology platform for single-step purification (in E.coli, yeast, baculovirus and mammalia), detection and assays of pure and bioactive proteins.
For protein:protein interaction analysis, IBA is offering several One-STrEP-tag based sets and kits to isolate multi-protein complexes and to identify protein-protein interactions, with StarGate being a versatile tool for bait cloning. In addition, IBA´s Strep-tag portfolio is highly suited also for diagnostic assays and for immobilization of Strep-tag proteins.
As optimal partner for Strep-tag in double-tag proteins IBA offers 6xHistidine-tag enabling the rapid control of full length expression and increasing protein purity due to two independent purification methods.
The comprehensive product line centered around proteins is completed with IBA Biologics' contract manufacturing service encompassing large scale production of recombinant proteins under GMP.
IBA's nucleic acid division is specialized in RNA oligonucleotide synthesis, labeled oligonucleotides (e.g. for real-time PCR), triphosphates and total chemical gene synthesis. Of special importance is IBA's expertise in double-stranded RNA for interference studies which are complemented by suitable transfection reagents. For LNA (locked nucleic acid) synthesis IBA has a license from Exiqon.
The Streptamer TAGnology, a combination of different TAGs, is widely used for staining and isolation of functional, epitope-specific T-cells.
