First established in 1898 by Johann Haltermann in Hamburg, Germany, Haltermann has a tradition of innovation, customer service, and top-quality products. Haltermann's offices and production facilities are in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg and Speyer.

Haltermann is one of the leading producers in Europe of hydrocarbon-based specialties and hydrocarbon solvents, including printing ink distillates, high-purity hydrocarbons, hydrocarbon propellants, and test and reference fuels. Haltermann also offers a wide range of services including testing, contract blending, and storage services.

Haltermann serves many industries, including the automotive, pharmaceutical, crop protection, cosmetic, fine chemical and laboratory chemical industries, graphic arts and printing, electronics industry, as well as plastics processing.

Since its founding 113 years ago, Haltermann's market leadership position has been defined by exceptional attention to product quality and customer service.

Since July 2011 Haltermann is back to its roots as an independent company. Dr. Uwe Nickel is the CEO of the new Haltermann who is working together with an experienced management team and highly trained employees to continue Haltermann's traditions and expand the business.

Haltermann is an active member of several industry associations, including the European Solvents Industry Group (ESIG), a joint activity of the Oxygenated Solvents Producers Association (OSPA) and the Hydrocarbon Solvents Producers Association (HSPA).
Haltermann is a member of the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI, Verband der Chemischen Industrie), which represents 90% of the chemical industry in Germany.

Haltermann is also a member of the Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (DECHEMA Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e. V.).

Also, Haltermann is a member of the Brussels-based Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council.

Our vision at the new Haltermann is to grow as a global player in pure hydrocarbon solvents and specialties.

Many of Haltermann's European customers are global and Haltermann strives to go global with them. Haltermann has an extensive sales network in Germany and Europe and representatives around the globe.
