Eurogentec was founded in 1985 as a spin-off from the University of Liège (Belgium). Our mission is to design and deliver reliable and innovative services and products for the Life-Science community. As a leading supplier in genomic and proteomic research, Eurogentec is able to offer its customers integrated solutions, whether they use DNA, antibodies, peptides or proteins as research tools. Eurogentec also offers research and development services for the biopharmaceutical industry. We can be your partner from the research bench through to production.
Eurogentec services
Eurogentec has developed a broad platform of enabling technologies. The activities are organised around 2 business units.
The «Tools for Genomics and Proteomics» is specialised in oligonucleotide synthesis with a large range of modifications, oligonucleotides for In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD), Real-Time qPCR, microRNA, siRNA and proposes a wide range of kits and consumables. It also gathers know-how in the design of peptides, either for antibody production or bioactive peptide purposes. Antibody production in a wide range of animal models as well as Peptide-, Antibody- and ProteinArrays are also key areas of expertise.
«Eurogentec Biologics» is a full-service Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO) delivering research, development and production services for cGMP clinical batch manufacturing.
Eurogentec network
Eurogentec’s headquarters (administrative offices and production facilities) are located in the LIEGE Science Park. The Company has subsidiaries in France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and Switzerland and production facilities in San Diego (USA) and in Toyama (Japan). The company is also present in Singapore thanks to a partnership with AIT Biotech Pte Ltd (previously Research Biolabs).
The EGT Group currently employs around 290 people, including around 30 PhDs. In 2001, Eurogentec has been awarded “Belgium’s entrepreneur of the Year”. In 2002, Eurogentec received the Walloon Region award for exports in Europe.
Eurogentec collaborations
Eurogentec participates in innovative research projects through strategic alliances with other companies and renowned academic laboratories. It is a consortium member in various types of European research projects. It has collaborative agreement with the German Cancer Research Center DKFZ and the Molecular Biology Center EMBL (Heidelberg, Germany), the Pasteur Institute of Paris, the INRA, the CNRS, the INSERM, the IGBMC and various private companies such as GPC (Munich, Germany), Aventis Pharma, Aventis Cropscience, GlaxoSmithKline, DiaMed EuroGen, Exiqon. Eurogentec is also involved in the spin-off Probiox, supported by internationally renowned scientist Professor Montagnier, aiming to develop new biochips to detect oxidative stress.
