Directa AB is a Swedish, privately owned company which was founded in 1916 and has around twenty-five employees.

The company is one of the fastest growing manufacturers of dental products in the Nordic region, with the main focus on development and production of innovative products that facilitate the everyday work of dental practitioners and make life easier for their patients.

Directa is involved in a number of business activities; from developing and manufacturing of products to marketing and sales in over 90 countries. The company's five largest export markets are currently: Germany, France, USA, U.K. and Scandanavia. Currently our five biggest selling products worldwide are: Luxator Extraction Instruments, ProphyPaste, FenderWedge, FenderMate and PractiPal Tray System.

"Design by Dentists" exemplifies that Directa takes up product ideas from practicing dentists and academics, then develops the concepts in close collaboration with the idea originators and our team of technical specialists. The Directa consultant development group "KUSP" comprises of a team of selected dental specialists and manufacturing experts, who together with Directa's product experts, shape and design Directa dental products in order to improve and facilitate dental care. Product development is carried out according to the needs and demands of dentists - as well as patients. Since its founding, Directa has, together with its dental advisers and experts, designed a number of pioneering products that help facilitate the clinical work of dental practitioners.

One of the most respected and well-known Directa products is the extraction instrument Luxator®, which with its special ergonomic handle, excellent tactility and well-designed cutting shaft minimises tissue damage during tooth extraction. Luxator has become a classic dental instrument that is used in tens of thousands of dental clinics worldwide and is being adopted by a number of leading dental universities. Another popular and globally renowned product developed by Directa is the unique protective FenderWedge®, which protects adjacent teeth during the preparation of teeth for Class II fillings. FenderWedge® has become big news in the international dental market and has attracted much attention in international trade journals and the press. The introduction of FenderMate®, - a combined sectional matrix and wedge compliments the use of FenderWedge in the completion of Class II composite restorations and has caused a considerable stir in the dental world since its' introduction. It is unique and revolutionary. with no retention ring needed.
