Stirling Ultracold
斯特林冰箱,美国Stirling Ultracold公司推出了一款便携式的-86°C超低温冰箱Shuttle™。
Stirling Ultracold, a division of Global Cooling, Inc., is a developer and manufacturer of a new generation of environmentally friendly ultra low temperature freezers which operate below -86°C. These freezers do not use dry ice, Peltier or conventional cascade refrigeration systems. Instead, the Stirling Ultracold product line operates on free-piston Stirling engine technology.
Marketed as Humm™ technology, the Stirling Ultracold product line offers significant benefits over conventional ultra low freezers, including:
Reduced electric energy costs by as much as 50%
Reduced load on facility HVAC and back-power infrastructure
Longer operating life and reduced maintenance expectations compared to cascade refrigeration.
Tighter “straight-line” temperature control vs. on/off operating systems.
Better top-to-bottom temperature uniformity assured by an isothermal thermosiphon surrounding the freezer interior chamber.
Environmentally-friendly refrigerants, low refrigerant volume.
Significantly reduced noise level.
Lighter, smaller, quieter, including , the industry’s first portable
-86°C ultra low freezer.
Undercounter 3.6 cu.ft. and full-size upright storage models are launching in 2011.
The Stirling Swift™ control, alarm, monitoring and communications center serves as a touchscreen portal to ultra low freezer operation, verification, performance, cabinet history and reserve cooling capacity.
Stirling Ultracold ultra low freezers are available worldwide from leading distributors, dealers and manufacturers’ representatives who serve the life science, pharmaceutical, biomedical/clinical and biotechnology markets.
Global Cooling’s HUMM™ free-piston Stirling technology is based on the Stirling cycle which operates by cyclically expanding and compressing helium. Global Cooling’s HUMM™ technology is a free-piston machine driven by a linear driver that does not use any life limiting bearings and seals. It does not use oil. All moving components are supported by non-contact gas bearings.
The coolers can be used to cool by direct contact to the cold head or by transferring the heat using a thermosiphon. Global Cooling has a broad patent portfolio with 14 issued and 4 provisional patents.
The Humm™ technology is deployed on the Stirling Ultracold product line, and is available by OEM arrangement to selected companies for use in allied applications.
